R class locomotive No. 20 was built by James Martin at Gawler, South Australia. It entered service in 1894, was rebuilt to Rx specifications in 1905, and was condemned in 1965. No. 150 was built by James Martin at Gawler, South Australia. It entered service in 1895, was rebuilt to Rx specifications in 1907, and was condemned in 1937.
