Summary

A large group of men with a few boys (and women on the side) taken in front of a tent. The man in uniform is believed to be William Henry Bachelor. A later annotation reads 'the Gilberton Swimming Club opening day', but this may not be correct - this photo appeared in 'The Chronicle' on Saturday 10 March 1917, page 29, with two other photos under the general heading 'Swimming at Gilberton'. The photo is captioned 'The General Committee', 3 March 1917, photo by 'Presto'. 15 x 20.1 cm [appears on page 19 in history]
