From the Courier Messenger 14/5/86 : 'Unley Rotary Club has helped fund a car for Red Cross disaster services department. In a certificate of appreciation, Red Cross describes the gift as a significant contribution towards the effective maintenance of one of the society's major services. "Red Cross, under the State Disaster Plan - welfare, has the specific role of organising the registration of an receiving enquiries for evacuees and victims of disasters. When the need arises, this vehicle will be used for these round-the-clock disaster registration purposes. In addition, its ongoing use will provide transport for Red Cross to conduct extensive disaster training sessions throughout the State to ensure a high degree of preparedness. The society is grateful to Unley Rotary Club for helping in this general and professional manner".' The certificate was awarded to the club at a twilight garden party at Government House.
