Summary

Five "ladies riding astride" participanting in a procession to the Prospect Oval for a carnival in aid of the Australian Soldiers Repatriation Fund. They are gathered in front of a tram. The Register newspaper of 20 November 1916 reported "Punctually at 2 o'clock a long procession moved away from the North Road, along Lefevre terrace, Brougham place, O'Connell street and the Prospect road to the Prospect Oval.... Then followed a cavalcade of 25 ladies riding astride and collecting on route."
