General notes

Historical information

Dr. Charles O'Reilly Jnr. was the brother of Henry McKinnon Muirhead's wife, Mary Jane Muirhead (nee O'Reilly). Born in 1824 in Dublin, Ireland, Charles entered Trinity College in his home town at the age of 16, and earned a B.A. in 1845, and an M.B. in 1850. He held a medical practice in Dublin for some time, also spending time as a ships surgeon. Charles married Gertrude and they later produced a daughter. Charles died in West Africa.
