Historical information

No. 213 was built by Walkers Ltd., of Maryborough, Queensland, delivered to South Australia aboard the Chillagoe on 6 January 1915, commissioned on 3 February 1915 and broken up at Islington in October 1960. In 1922 this locomotive was used in trials to test a superheated engine against that of a saturated engine, Rx No. 199.
