Houses and tall gum trees on Barnes Lane, Magill. According to a researcher, John Flett (now Dr. John Flett) lived in this house (43 Barnes Avenue) at the time with his parents Alexander John and Gertrude Emma Flett and his younger siblings Phyllis, Doris and Colin. A fifth child Ronald had died before this photo was taken. John does not believe that the road was ever called Barnes Lane (as the photo is titled), but has always had its current name of Barnes Avenue. Alexander Flett was involved in building the house in the early 1920s. This same house is also shown in the photograph titled Cuthero Terrace, Magill as it stood on the junction of Cuthero Terrace and Barnes Avenue.
