Summary

The four masted steel barque 'Arrow', 3090 tons, at anchor. [steel 4 masted barque. 3090 tons. ON115804. 327.7 x 46.5 x 26.2. Built 1902 (4) A. Rodger and Co. Port Glasgow. Owners: Anglo American Oil Co. Ltd. Registered London. c.1913 sold to German owners and was renamed 'Parma'. Employed in the nitrate trades for some time until sold for the grain trade and as such well known in Australian waters. Hulked in 1936 at Haifa. One of the ships owned by the Anglo-American Oil Co. Ltd., London.

This image is from the A.D. Edwardes Collection of about 8,000 photographs, mostly of sailing ships from around the world, taken between about 1865 and 1920. Mounted in 91 albums, the photographs are arranged by country of ownership, with some special volumes such as 'Shipping at Port Adelaide' and 'South Australian outports'. Additional information, giving the history of the ships where known, has been provided by maritime historian, Ron Parsons.
