Entrance to Logo Santo. Watercolour, 7.25" x 9.25" [See also PRG 1/5/218. These are the most problematic in regards to dating as it has not been possible to verify the exact location depicted. There is no specific mention in either Dutton or Elder of Logo Santo (or Logo Santa as this painting is labelled). It may be Lago Santo near Modena. The Lights travelled across this area ca.1826. You can just see what may be the blue of the lake in this painting. We may be erroneous in assuming these depict different aspects of the same place. Elder also says (page 14) 'Few exact dates exist for these years in the Mediterranean: the sketches and paintings which have survived are mostly undated and often untitled ...'.].
