'Swagger stick', lightweight carved in one piece, with the shaft and handle delineated by a small decorative 'knot'and a snake curling up the shaft. The handle section features six rope-like strands loosely spiralling up to the handle knob, which is carved in the shape of a turban or 'knot'. May have been made by a seaman, but was the possession of W.A. Crowder who mentioned it in his diary. Length 66 cm. Width at widest point (the end handle knot) 3.5 cm. Width at bottom 0.7 cm.
