Diary of James Gilbert McDougall who recorded his observations of the flora and fauna around Yorke Peninsula when he was living in Edithburgh (articled to Mr E Gower); the entries date from 2 January 1886 to 16 October 1887. Includes two small painted sketches on card of insects, and a pencil sketch of seeds, which were originally placed loose in volume. At rear of volume are two indexes, for 1886 and 1887 observations.
