Summary

[General description] Men are posed with a water boring drill which is housed in a tall derrick and powered by a steam engine on the right. The Torrens Lake and trees opposite provide a pleasant background to the industrial scene. [On back of photograph] 'Water boring appliances, Survey Yard, on south bank of Torrens Lake between City Bridge and Victoria Bridge / In the eighteen eighties'.
