Summary

Christ Church, Yankalilla dating back to 1857 see also:- Little Gorge, near Yankalilla. Christ Church was one of the oldest churches in South Australia. One of the stained glass windows dates back to 1873. It was opened by Bishop Augustus Short, the first bishop of Adelaide on July 9, 1857. In 1860 Rev. Astley Cooper, the first resident clergyman was appointed. He held this position until 1863.
