Harvey Lovely aged 15 years old, dressed as a Man of War. According to a researcher, Harvey Lovely was born William Harvey Chapman Lovely on 13 June 1872 in Adelaide, to father James Chapman Lovely and mother Annie Elizabeth Cowie. His father lived at Semaphore and was an Engineer/Surveyor, in partnership with George Dutton Green (of Green & Co). Harvey's father was involved in Local Government in the Le Fevre Peninsula, at one point chairman of the Le Fevre Peninsula District Council and later, serving as Councillor and at one point becoming Mayor of Semaphore. Harvey and his brothers were also involved (as was their father) with the Rifle Volunteer Force. When this photo was taken, Harvey was still at school, possibly attending St Alfred's College (where he boarded). [Source: Susann Green, nee Lovely, Harvey's granddaughter circa 2017]
