Summary

[General description] Side view of a model of the H.M.S. Buffalo. She is one of five model ships commissioned by Sidney Wilcox in 1938. The others were City of Adelaide, Investigator, Géographe, and Rapid. As a child he sailed to England with his parents in 1872-4 in the City of Adelaide so this journey evidently inspired his interest in South Australia's historical sailing ships.
