Two men (the seated pilot is almost certainly R.G. Carey) in the cockpit of a biplane, believed to be a Maurice Farman Shorthorn belonging to R.G. Carey. There is an advertisement for 'Velvet soap' on the side of the cockpit, and a bicycle tied to one wing is promoting 'Ariel Cycle Works' at Footscray, owned by H. Horder. [Carey used the bike as transport from the plane after it was set down in a paddock to the nearest town where he was conducting business.]
