General notes

The original donation also included three bags of flax, one tagged and dated 1945, and a silver cup engraved 'Presented to W.N. Johnson Esq by A.O. Schumaker Esq for first place - Parilla Branch Agricultural Bureau Crop Competition season 1931-32.' These items have been passed on to The Museum of Economic Botany, 5th June 2013.

Original acidic mounts not kept due to issues of preservation.

Historical information

The town 11km east of Naracoorte was named by Governor Bosanquet on 10 June 1909 as 'Hyman East', which was changed to 'Hyman' on 20 April 1941.
