Summary

One of a series of 38 photographs taken during a trip along the Birdsville Track in 1939, this image shows five men standing outside a galvanised iron building at Cannuwaukalanna. They are Lionel Walpole (passenger also known as Saxa Sam), Fred Donaldson (manager Cannuwaukalanna), Ken Crombie (mail driver), Otto Anderson (passenger) and George Williams (mail offsider). There is a variety of dress from what appears to be a flying helmet and jacket, to jackeroo attire and a suit.
