General notes

This is one of a series of photographs collected by A.E.H. Evans (1871-1950) Adelaide accountant, auditor and secretary during the time he was organising secretary of the King Edward VII Memorial Committee.

Historical information

The King Edward VII memorial statue was sculpted by Bertram Mackennal, A.R.A., M.V.O., in England and practically completed when World War One intervened. A public subscription was raised for the bronze sculptures of the King, its three female figures and granite pedestal.
