Summary

A two storey house, small wharf on a river bank, mast or flagpole, rope rigging on the wharf. The house also features a balcony with glassed-in balcony, slatted blinds and trellis supports, ivy, slate roof, ornate dormer windows and chimney pots. In front are several men, one with a Captain's hat and full beard, two with boater hats, three wearing moustaches, ca.1978

Historical information

The son of Friedrich E. H. W. Krichauff (1824-1904), Frederick Charles Krichauff married Elizabeth Alcie Gemmell in 1898. In addition to his photography, Krichauff was an architect (he designed the Hazelwood Park rotunda) and a member of the Royal Philatelic Society. He lived in Portrush Road, Toorak Gardens in the later part of his life and died in 1954 aged 92.
