Summary

[General description] This impressive building in the 'Classical Revival & Beaux Arts' style is newly completed in this image. Architect was L. Laybourne Smith of the firm Woods, Bagot, Laybourne Smith & Irwin. On the right is part of the E.S. & A. Building [On back of photograph] ' Acres 16 & 47 / King William Street, west side / 1936 / The Australian Mutual Provident Society's building was completed in 1936 / Compare with B 2041 / The A.M.P. Building stands on the south corner of Gresham Place / King William Street frontage is 23 yards / Presented by the A.M.P. Society'.
