Boy in sailor style suit
Boy aged about six seated on a chair in the yard. He is wearing a sailor style coat, beret, long socks and ankle boots. Several potted plants have been placed nearby to give a sense of garden to the image. There are a few small plants at the base of a paling fence with a chicken wire trellis attached.

In this formal family portrait the man is wearing a spotted bow tie and a stand up collar. The woman is in a dark dress with frilled bodice and the child is in a dark double breasted coat with a broad sailor-style collar and lapels. Mr W. Benson is written in pencil on the verso of the photograph.

The fabric of the woman's dress is of distinctive design and she is wearing a small white ruffled cap. The hair and some parts of the outline of the figures have been retouched by hand. The man is wearing a stand-up collar and bow tie and has an impressive handle-bar moustache. This photograph appears to be two separate exposures printed adjacent, to give the impression of a single portrait.The portrait may be of George and Elizabeth Hobby.
Two women in white aprons
Two women and a baby pictured with a black dog at the front gate of a bluestone cottage. The women are wearing white aprons and one has a white head piece suggestive of Nurses' uniforms. A plaque at the front door says Mrs Hobby Ladies Nurse. The double fronted bluestone cottage with slate roof has the verandah iron painted in vertical stripes. Similarly the picket fence uses a contrasting colour on the main posts. This may be the residence of Mrs George Hobby, Nurse, listed in Sands and MacDougall's South Australian Directory for 1900 at 91 Beulah Road, Norwood. The girls have contrasting satin sashes at the waist or hip. Food and bottled drinks are arranged on trestle tables, with serviettes in the shape of fans.

There is one woman present, sitting in the centre next to a man holding a loud hailer with a kangaroo motif on it. Two children are sitting at the front. A man in the back row is pouring a drink into a glass for the benefit of the camera.
