General notes

This photograph was reproduced in Marjorie Casson's 'The story of "Grange": the home of Capt. Charles Sturt' (1966) with the information that it was taken in the 1860s by a Regent Street photographer in London. The original image's dimensions were 9 cm x 5.5 cm; the name "Charles" is written on the back. It is of his brother Evelyn, who returned to England in 1869 before Charles died.
