Summary

A number of planes lined up on airfield, possibly Parafield. The second from left is a British Klemm BK.1 (s/n 113); to the right of that is a Klemm L32.V (first registered in December 1935). The plane on the far right is a De Havilland DH.60 series Moth (s/n 1376) whose registration was cancelled 22/8/1945. All the planes have numbers on their tails, suggesting that they may have been taking part in an air race. [According to a researcher this photograph records the end of the Centenary Air race from Brisbane to Adelaide in December 1936.]

General notes

The British Klemm BK.1 (113), registration VH-UTG, was registered to Adastra Airways from 24 April 1935 to 12 July 1938. The Klemm with the call sign VH-UVE was registered in December 1935 and flown by Lores Bonney from Australia to South Africa in 1937. It was destroyed in a hanger fire at Archerfield, Queensland, in June 1939. The De Havilland VH-UMU was imported in 1929 and was registered to a number of owners before being struck off register in 1945.
