Summary

Government House, Adelaide. The original plan had two wings and was built in the Regency style. It was started in 1838 and this part was completed in 1840. The Ballroom, Dining Room, Adelaide Room, Governor's Study and South Hall had all been added before this photograph was taken. It is the finest example of a Georgian mansion in South Australia. The photograph shows the shrubbery growing along the curved driveway, a lamp standard and Government House in the background.
