Summary

[General description] 'Register' staff and probably owners (in top hats) standing in front of the earlier building. A horse stands at the hitching rail. See B 5952 for the new building. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 141 / Grenfell Street, south side / 1859 (or possibly a little earlier) / The 'Register' was published in this building from 1854 to 1859 when the structure was practically rebuilt and another storey added (See p.p. 7-8 of 'A modern newspaper building' published by the 'Register' in 1909 / 'The earliest photographic view of Adelaide in the Archives' initialled by G.H.P. on 16th October, 1931'.
