Summary

[General description] The new Adelaide Railway Station is part of Railways Commissioner William A. Webb's massive rehabilitation of South Australia's railway system. In the foreground a gang of men are working on what are probably tram- tracks. Note fruit barrows in front of the station and the horse cab. [On back of photograph] 'Adelaide Railway Station / 1928 / Photographed from the south side of North Terrace looking north east / Erected 1926-8 / For photos of the old station see B 2360, B 2364 and B 4872' (Another hand) 'Site and measurements: Eastern front is 152.5 yards west of King William Road / Eastern front measures 123.5 yards / Western front is 271 yards west of King William Street'.
