Summary

[General description] A woman and small child walk past a new building with glass roof lights that connects the premises of Richard Spencer Carriage and Waggon Manufacturing Company and the Gardener's Supply stores. On the right is part of the East End Market building. Note the tram pole in the centre of Grenfell Street. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 96 / Grenfell Street, north side / June 25th 1928 / The building between the Spencer Company and the Gardener's Supply Stores was ereced in 1926-7. For photograph of the cottages formerly on the site see B 2744 / Left side of new building is 11 yards east of Union Street. Frontage: 18 yards' (Another hand) 'All the buildings to the left of the Gardener's Supply Stores were demolished in 1930. See B 5930 and B 5918'.
