Summary

[General description] A man poses for the photographer next to the old mill which stands on a hillside, silhouetted against the sky. Cutting across the view is a row of slotted posts, probably from a derelict post-and-rails fence. This structure (1846) was built as part of a flour mill complex but never used for that purpose. Today (2013) the restored mill is surrounded by suburban houses and, fitted with a spiral staircase, provides an excellent look out over Boston Bay. [On back of photograph] 'Old mill at Port Lincoln / Jan. 11, 1918'.
