Summary

[General description] Two Impressive Adelaide buildings from the nineteen twenties. On the right, the facade of the classically styled six storey Executor Trustee and Agency Building is dominated by paired Roman columns. Joint architects were Walter H. Bagot ,Laybourne Smith and C.E.W. Parsons. The Alliance Assurance Company Building architects were J.A. Kethel, Rutt and Lawson. Styling is also classical and the facade features a more modest pair of columns. [On back of photograph] 'Acres 108 & 107 / Grenfell St., north side / 1927 / Reproduced in the Chronicle 10-12-1927 / Alliance building erected in 1925-26. For photo. of this site in Jan. 1925 see B 2454. Site of Alliance Building: Right side is 15 yds. west of James Place. / Frontage: 11 yards. / Trustee Building erected in 1924-25. For view of building formerly on the site see B 850. / Site of Trustee Building: On the west corner of James Place. Frontage 15 yards.'
