Summary

[General description] Here is a row of small specialty shops once common in residential areas. There is Bailey's Bakery displaying cakes in its window, S. Robson's Bootmakers and a corner shop which is probably a grocery as it has advertisements for Anchor products in its window. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 500 / Hutt Street, west side / May 31, 1927 / The shop between Robson's and the corner premises was erected in 1926 on a vacant site. / Site of new shop: Right side is 11 yards south of Carrington Street. Frontage: 3 1/2 yards. / Left side of Bailey's Bakery is 33 yards south of Carrington Street'.
