Summary

[General description] This low stone cottage has an iron roof and prominent chimneys. It was the original homestead of Robert Lawson and his wife Eliza when they established Padthaway Station from 1847. The station flourished and a large new two storey house, suitable for a wealthy grazier's family, replaced it as the main residence in 1882. For a view of the new homestead see B 3717. Both the old and the new buildings are still in use in 2010.
