Summary

[General description] The western side of Victoria Square near Franklin Street. Several shop fronts have been built into the Morialta Chambers. At the far end stands the Windsor Castle Hotel and buildings at the back of the General Post Office can be seen in the background. Several cars are angled parked at the kerb and pedestrians are moving about their business. [On back of photograph] Acre 267. Victoria Square, west side, 22nd February, 1926. For photo, of Morialta Chambers, taken in 1924 before the installation of shop-fronts and the erection of verandahs, see B 2372. Division between Morialta Chambers and the three storey building on the left is 38 yards south of Franklin Street. For view of building subsequently on this site see B 13963.
