Summary

[On back of photograph] 'Photographed in 1925 / Reproduced in the Chronicle, Dec. 26, 1925 / Victoria Square, north west corner / 1925' [General description] This is a view of King William Road and the General Post Office, seen through trees in the Square garden. An electric tram is passing horse drawn vehicles standing at the kerb. In the foreground is a statue of Hercules, later to be moved to Pennington. At this time the gardens are surrounded by ornate iron railings. Behind the Post Office a scaffolding tower protrudes.
