Summary

[On back of photograph] 'Photographed in 1925. Reproduced in the Chronicle, Dec. 26, 1925. Government Offices, Flinders Street. Acre 236.' [General Description] The view is taken from an elevated point on the east side of Victoria Square, facing north. The Town Hall tower can be seen above the Government buildings, and to the right a new tall building is under construction. Motor cars are parked at the kerb and driven on the wet road. An ornamental urn with four lion's heads is mounted on a parapet seen in the right foreground. Note the iron railings around the Victoria Square gardens.
