Summary

A satirical sketch, attributed to A.G. Ball, of a horseman in the outback with binoculars scanning the horizon. Inscribed under the image is 'The S.G. in pursuit of the Rainfall / Novr annus memorabilis 1865 / small memento of Senatorial wisdom / scene. Squatters Paradise. N.E. Plain'. 'S.G.' refers to the 'Surveyor General', a position occupied by G.W. Goyder at the time.
