Summary

Carrington Street, north side, 15 April 1942. Premises of the former Church of England Orphan Home for Girls. Left side of the building is 54 yards east of Marion Court. Frontage: 23 yards. For a view of this building taken in 1960 see B 14284. The Orphan Home was established in Stepney in 1860 by the Church of England. It operated as a Home for Girls of primary age. In 1861 it moved to Carrington Street and then in 1908 to Fullarton Road, Upper Mitcham. In 1935 the Home was renamed Farr House.
