Summary

New jetty, Kingston with a ship at anchor. The town was named after Sir George Strickland Kingston, a South Australian politician, surveyor and architect. It is located on the shores of Lacepede Bay and is located at about 150 miles from Adelaide. The railway was built connecting it to the outside world in 1876. Deep sea and lobster fishing was a significant industry at this time.
