Ships of the German Kaiserliche Marine fleet during World War I. Research suggests that the ship in the foreground is a pre-dreadnought battleship of the Deutschland class. Of the five Deutschland class battleships SMS Pommern was torpedoed in 1916, SMS Hannover, SMS Schleswig-Holstein and SMS Schlesienwere were retained by the Reichsmarine after World War I and SMS Deutschland was scrapped in 1922. None participated in the surrender of the Kaiserliche Marine fleet at Scapa Flow in November 1918.
