A swimming competition which was believed to have been held in the Torrens River at Gilberton, South Australia; crowds watch the competitors in action. According to a researcher, this is not Gilberton but the North Adelaide Amateur Swimming Club at the end of Warwick Street, Walkerville, not the Gilberton Amateur Swimming Club. The canvas screen at the back of the image was used by the North Adelaide Club not by Gilberton.
