Doris Brinsley was born 18 September 1892, daughter of George Arthur Brinsley and Anna Rosina nee Wilcox. She enlisted 18 June 1917 at Adelaide and embarked for overseas 9 November 1917. She left the service 18 February 1920.

Portrait of Rhoda Emma Mary Preedy. Rhoda was born in 1875 the eldest child of William Henry Hewson and Emma Hewson (nee Paice) in St Mary Islington, London. In the mid 1880s William, a painter and decorator, and Emma brought their young family to South Australia and established a business. On 15 September 1896 Rhoda married Albert Preedy with whom she had two children; Albert Lionel Preedy (30 May 1898) and Winifred Edna Preedy (22 August 1901). In 1927 with a degree in Dentistry Winifred became the second woman to graduate from the University of Adelaide. Rhoda married Thomas Flint on 7 April 1928 and died on 12 July 1942. She is buried in the North Road Cemetery.

Opalotype portrait of William Costen Burgess. Burgess is believed to have been born 1 April 1842 in South Australia (not recorded) and died North Boulder, WA, on 12 November 1902. He was a farmer at Red Bank farm, River Gawler; a publican at both Port Broughton and Collinsfield (both in SA) and a miner in in Western Australia from 1893. He was also living at Aberdeen, Burra in 1878. Biographical notes may be found at D 8278(Misc).
