Part of a collection of glass plate negatives which have been transferred from the National Trust of South Australia, Victor Harbor Branch. The images comprise gatherings, views over water, houses, and Colonel Light's statue at North Adelaide. The negatives were originally from Charles Hoffmann [assumed to be Hoffmann Photographics, Victor Harbor].

Views mostly in South Australia, including public buildings in Adelaide, the Government Printing Office and its staff (on the annual wayzgoose); several churches and schools, including North Adelaide Model School (1877) and Norwood Model School; Zoo, Botanic Gardens, Torrens lake and Survey yard (B 9126), Adelaide Oval (B 34610/31), Torrens lake and Adelaide Oval (B 34610/38), and several views of exhibits thought to be for the Adelaide Jubilee International Exhibition (1887). Views in the Adelaide Hills include Beetaloo water works, Government Farm, Belair, Mt Lofty, the Hills railway line. The album contains several photographs of the lava terraces in New Zealand. These have not been digitised. A selection of South Australian views have been separately described and digitised. View these by searching on Archival number B 34610 and then by viewing each record nos 1- 47. The remaining South Australian photographs have copies held elsewhere in the Pictorial Collection (numbers are noted in the album). These and all other photographs, including a group portrait of Aboriginal people (B 34610/3) can be viewed by requesting the album. Some photographs are attributable to the photographer Captain Samuel White Sweet.

Collection of lantern slides, created by Raymond Gordon. Gordon travelled widely in South Australia and to the Northern Territory. Views include Mount Gambier, Barmera, Adelaide and the Ungarra district, Eyre Peninsula. Prints and negatives of some slides are also held in other series (Series 1, 3, and 4) and have been digitised in those. Listed below is a selection of the slides. Many of the slides have been digitised in series 3 and are not repeated in this list. Slides taken in the Middle East also have not been listed or digitised.

Frank Reginald Potts

Frank Reginald Potts

Frank Reginald Potts, son of Frank Potts II of 'Bleasdale', Langhorne Creek in his Army uniform. He enlisted in the 20th Reinforcement, 27th Battalion in April 1917 and after training in England arrived in France in April 1918. He returned home to Langhorne Creek in January 1919 where he died six months later, in August 1919.

Seven are of buildings and houses, five are of groups of people, two are single portraits, and three show the paddle steamer 'Ellen', a gravestone of Potts pioneer couple, and a scene at Lameroo. Florence and George Oswald

Private Edmund George Oswald in miltiary uniform with his wife Florence (Flo) Emma Oswald (nee Green). They were married in London at St Matthias Church on 23 January 1919. Florence is seated and wearing a wide-brimmed hat, fur scarf, a long double-breasted coat and holding a pair of gloves in her left hand. Underneath the photo is inscribed: 'Love from Flossie and George. 4/5/19. (1919)'. On the back of the photo is inscribed: 'Soon be home Mum, old dear. xxxxxx' in pencil. A newspaper obituary notice for George Oswald, 6 November 1938, is stuck on the back of the photograph.
