[General description] The Foresters Hall (centre), used earlier by a the Foresters Friendly Society, now is to be used by the Freemasons. The two storey building on the left has fallen into disrepair as have many of the town's houses by 1932. The town, once thriving, with wheat teams bringing in the grain to be loaded onto South Australia's coastal ketches was economically devastated by the arrival of the railway. Once hard to obtain housing is now empty. The Terminus Hotel (established circa 1849) seen on the left is partially obscured by a tree. [On back of photograph] 'Port Wakefield / 1932 / In centre is the Foresters Hall, whch is about to be converted into a Masonic Hall / Reproduced in the Chronicle for August 11, 1932'.
