River steamer "P.S. Cadell"
"Cadell" river steamer purchased by Captain George Johnston and brought out by "Queen of South". Hull built at Goolwa 1876. Her hull was launched in 1876 and she was used as a barge until 1878 when her engine was fitted. Captain George Johnston's brother Peter was killed after falling into the paddlebox in 1881."Cadell" requently crossed the river mouth and later lay derelict on the beach at Port Pirie.

River steamer "Corrong" passing under the raised bridge at Balranald, New South Wales, on the Murrumbidgee River. The steamer was possibly named for Corrong Station on the Lachlan River. She was sister ship to "Burrabogie". Bargehand William England was lost overboard in 1874.

Originally a barge, worked out of Port Wakefield but returned to Mildura in 1888. Sank near Euston in 1923 and destroyed by fire in 1930. The photograph shows "Ellen" in drydock with workers standing alongside.

River steamer "Merle". No copying without permission from the Donor. The "Merle" at Morgan. This stern wheeler was built in 1903 and was used as a hawking steamer and was named for Captain E Diener's eldest daughter Merle. The barge "Flo" was named for the younger daugher. The "Merle" sank in Lake Alexandrina in 1917. A twin screw two decker motor vessel was built in 1943 and was also named "Merle". This photograph was taken in 1907.

"Pioneer" later named the "William Randell", River steamer. No copying without permission from the Donor. "Pioneer" was 175 tons and built in 1870. There appear to have been two "Pioneers" in 1879. This one was later renamed "William Randell" about 1907.

"Pearl" the two funnel Steamer at Echuca. Not Chaffey Brothers Stern Wheeler of the same name. "Pearl" was a stern wheeler of 77 tons and built in Mildura in 1866.

River steamer "The Sturt", built at Port Sturt. She was built in 1856 and was the sister vessel to "Leichardt". She was stuck in the Darling River from 1885-1886. She hit a snag and sank in 1890.
