Commonwealth countries celebrated the Relief of Kimberley which occurred when Lord Roberts entered Kimberley ending the siege of the Boers in February 1900. Bonfires were a common sign of celebration. This photograph shows the celebration in Commerical Street and the flags raised for the occasion
