The opening run was fixed for 9 June to Wirrabara, starting from M.S. McLeod's Cycle and Motor store, Ayr Street, visible on the right of this picture. Other shops include H.L. Berridge (Jeweller), J.C. Skurry - Skurray's (Bootmaker) and Adelaide Tailor.

[General description] This brick building, designed by Mr. St. John Makin features a central block of four crennulated towers with a single storey wing at each end. It was originally named the Lakeman Institute after its patron Mr. F.A. Lakeman,director of James Marshall & Co., Limited, and Vice-President of the South Australian Missions to Seamen.
