[General description] The new east wing of the South Australian Museum was officially opened on 8 December 1915 containing a Natural History and Art Museum. It is Romanesque in style with a mansard roof. Perhaps it is still incomplete in this view where two ladies stroll past, one with a sun umbrella. A gardener is busy in front of the building which is almost identical to the west (Jervois) wing, now known as the Mortlock Library. See B 225 for photograph of construction work.
