Edith Saunders sitting in a deck chair with Misses Florence and Helen Hill of 'Inchiquin', Clare, either side of her. Edith Rosebud Saunders, the youngest child of Richard Saunders and Harriet Boughen was born in Clare on 27 August 1878. She did not marry and died at Glengowrie on 26 July 1970. Florence Hill married Llewelyn Davies in 1920 and had one child, David, in 1921. Helen Hill never married.

Looking North up the main street, the tower in the centre is part of the Town Hall. The hotel in the foreground called Northern Hotel later became known as Bentleys. The proprietor in the 1880s was Frederick C Gray. In a typical rural setting chickens can be seen in the main street along with horse drawn carts. Three people and a dog are waiting outside the hotel.
