Birks on Rundle Street

Black and white photograph of Birks premises on the South West corner of Rundle Street and Gawler Place, Town Acre 81. During the 1870s, the building was then occupied by Holden & Birks, saddlers. The parapet of this building featured ornate mouldings in the 1870s.

Small light tan coloured leather pouch with a metal rivets and fastener, and textured leather on the reverse and surround. The words 'Holden & Frost 1916' are imprinted into the front panel, and a letter 'H' with an arrow underneath is imprinted at the end of the strap.

Holden & Frost label ca.1900-1923 made of a waxed cloth material, folded at one end with a metal ringlet in the centre of the fold. 'From Holden & Frost Adelaide' is printed on one side, with the number '45001' in small print to the side, and '7/8" Bin 8' is written on the reverse side.
