Villa, bearing the name Guildford, which formerly occupied the site of the "Central" (demolished in 1982) at Victor Harbor. Built by Thomas Parsons circa 1890, it was probably a Guesthouse at the time of this photo, and this group of people are likely to have been guests.

[General description] This is a view of the tower and part of the front of Mount Breckan House which was badly damaged by a fire in 1908. It was designed for Alexander Hay by architect William McMinn in the Gothic Revival style and built in 1881 as a summer retreat. It was one of the largest private residences in Australia at the time. It has had several partial restorations since but has now (2011) been fully restored. See B 4288 for another view. [On back of photograph] 'The ruins / Mount Breckan / Victor Harbor / c. 1912'.

First Post Office, Victor Harbor situated on the south side of Coral Street. This large single storey building, erected in 1866 is built of stone. There are six windows along one side and two doors and three windows along the front. This building is now called Norman Hellyer House.

Newland Memorial Church, Victor Harbor. In 1869 the new larger church was opened due to the growing population. It was named Newland Memorial Church in honour of the founder of the original church which was founded in 1839.

The Causeway, Victor Harbor

The Causeway between Victor Harbor and Granite Island. In 1867 the pier was extended to reach Granite Island and this was called "The Causeway". The railway line continued to the northern edge of the island where a working jetty was constructed. From 1900 the horse tramway was operated. The Screwpile Jetty followed. It was named due to the unique technique of screwing the piles directly into the seabed. The breakwater was completed in 1882 using granite stone blasted from the eastern side of the Island
